Machu Picchu & Amazon Expedition
Complete Peru! The three natural regions and main highlights in one trip: Pacific Coast with Nazca Lines, the Andes with Machu Picchu, and a four-day cruise on the Amazon.
This is the ultimate Peru experience!
Machu Picchu & Amazon Expedition
Peru is one of the few megadiverse countries of our Planet, thanks to its three rich natural regions: The arid Pacific coast, the Andes, and the Amazon rain forest. This expedition gives you the opportunity to explore it in detail, learning all about the history, natural history and the culture of all the mentioned regions, in just ten days (14 if taking the Nazca pre-extension)
At Cusco, the capital of the Incas, you will first explore the Sacred Valley, then spend two days and nights at Machu Picchu before returning to Cusco City for two nights to explore it in detail with your Master Guide. This is the ideal altitude acclimatization itinerary. (Spending the first night in Cusco is simply a mistake)
Most visitors to Machu Picchu only concentrate on the Inca history, but few know that they are visiting one of the most bio-diverse ecosystems on the planet. With NPE, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the flora and fauna with included natural history excursions.
You will then fly to the Amazon and embark the Delfin II, the best upscale Expedition Vessel in all of the Amazon (28 Guests). You will navigate to the origin of the Amazon, use skiffs to access thePacaya Samiria Reserve, the biggest protected wetland of the World. We have crafted the itinerary to maximize your chances to watch and photograph the big monkeys, observe unique bird species (The bird list of the route surpasses 750 species!), look for anacondas, pink dolphins, poison dart frogs, fish for piranhas, and gain close contact with Amazon locals.
During the Nazca Extension and the Cusco & Machu Picchu portion, you will travel in first class vehicles and will be led by NPE’s Master Guides. While on board the 28 guest Delfin II you will enjoy the services of the best Naturalists in the Amazon.
Hotels are top class, most of them 5-star, and the ones at Machu Picchu and Cusco have won several awards. Food is fantastic throughout the expedition and meals, bottled water and snacks are included (Alcoholic drinks while on board the Delfin II also).
This is the most complete Peru experience one can have in 10 days (13 if you add the Nazca extension) and is very popular among our regular explorers. We highly recommend that you give us a call soon to secure your spaces.Private departures are available.

This Expedition has been crafted in detail, following the ideal pacing for the destination. However, unpredictable circumstances such as weather, flight delays or cancelations, labor strikes, road conditions, traffic, hotel overbookings and other factors may force adjusting the program on site. These events or realities are out of our control and an inherent risk when traveling, especially on expeditions to this kind of remote destinations. Your Guide might also decide to alter the program in case opportunities to improve the cultural or wildlife experiences are found. No refunds will be given for program changes beyond the control of New Paths Expeditions.
Regarding the Amazon itinerary, the one presented here is just an example. The Amazon is an unpredictable area, and the itinerary is highly dependent on weather and the level of water, which could fluctuate up to 40 feet. Access to creeks and lakes may change overnight. All activities mentioned in these document will be done, but the order of the activities and the Rivers, Lakes and villages mentioned could change.
